Description: This branch of the Bard family was believed to have originated in Ireland with Archibald BEARD (BARD) immigrating to the Western Pennsylvania area of the USA about 1740. He had three sons: Richard BARD, William BARD, and David BARD. First son Richard BARD and his wife Catharine Poe BARD were captured by Delaware Indians in 1758. Their son John BARD and others were killed by the Indians.
