The Gosnall family, according to census records orginate from somewhere around Colchester, given by my great-grandfather as his place of birth around 1815. His Father John was a carpenter. Gt Grand Father John William married Sarah Ann Rolph/Rolf at Lawford, Essex 29 November 1843. After the birth of my Grandfather William (Frederick)28 May 1844, they moved to London's Dockland and were found there in 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 Census returns. The returns for 1891 and 1901 show them at Grays Thurrock as do other birth, marriage, and death records.
